Pilgrim Presbyterian Church is a mission work of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. We have been holding worship services in Dover since 2005, but we are still certainly in the beginning stages of establishing a congregation which draws families and individuals from the Dover area, Durham, Rochester, and southern Maine. We are united by our desire to have a biblically faithful church where the Lord is worshipped and the Gospel is proclaimed. More specifically, we are a Reformed congregation whose doctrine and practice is consistent with the Presbyterian and Reformed tradition which emerged out of the sixteenth century Protestant Reformation.

Central Ave. in downtown Dover, NH If you join us for a worship service, you will find that we are not flashy or gimmicky in the ways we approach worship and Christian living. Instead, we are a small but growing group of people who love the Lord and desire to "glorify God and enjoy him forever" (as the Westminster Confession states it) as we submit ourselves to the authority of the Scriptures. You will find no perfect people in our congregation, but you will find many people to entrust themselves to a perfect Savior. You won't find a majestic church building, but you will find that Jesus Christ is building his church through the means which he has ordained: his Word, the sacraments, and prayer. We take comfort in the words of our Lord that God is pleased neither by ostentatious formality nor by raucous entertainment but only by those who worship "in Spirit and in truth." We also take comfort in the promises that the church yet awaits for her true glorification which will be known in the New Heavens and New Earth upon Christ's return.

Until that day we seek to live as Christians in obedience to the word of God and in reliance upon the Holy Spirit. We embrace and proclaim the whole of the Scriptures (Old and New Testaments) as testifying to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and we believe that the Gospel is God's power unto salvation for the lost as well as for believers who already know the Lord Jesus Christ.

So please enjoy your time "with us" as you peruse the website. We look forward to ministering to you in away way which we possibly can.

For Christ and his Church,
Pastor Dave Holmlund
